The Season 3 finale of “Suburgatory” will also be the last episode of the series, as ABC decided last week to cancel the third-year comedy. Before the show’s final episode Wednesday night (May 14), creator Emily Kapnek wants to thank the show’s fans.
“Working on ‘Suburgatory’ has been an absolute joy,” Kapnek says in a statement. “We got to tell stories that made you laugh, we got to tell stories that made you cry — and one had James Ingram. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to the residents of Chatswin, the most talented yet unsung cast on television. I’m incredibly grateful for the time we had together and so proud of the work we did. A heartfelt thank you to all our fans who loved the show like we did.”
Though “Suburgatory” is done, Kapnek won’t be away from ABC for long. The network picked up her new show, “Selfie,” for the 2014-15 season and will air it on Tuesday nights in the fall.
The “Suburgatory” finale airs at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT Wednesday on ABC.
