In a move that will surprise no one, USA has officially renewed successful legal drama “Suits” for Season 3.
The series, starring Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, was the summer’s highest rated cable drama in adults 18-49 and drew a season high 6.5 million viewers for its summer finale. Six additional episodes from the Season 2 order were already on tap for a January premiere. The Season 3 renewal is for 16 episodes.
“Quite simply, ‘Suits’ is as good as it gets. Sophisticated storytelling, sharp dialogue, and award-worthy performances make this show a cornerstone of our original programming lineup,” USA co-presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel say in a statement announcing the renewal. The statement also declares “Suits” is USA’s “most provocative series.”
The “Suits” pick-up follows USA’s recent renewals of three other signature series: “Covert Affairs,” “Royal Pains” and “White Collar.”
