Susan Lucci isn’t letting the cancellation of “All My Children” keep her from working. The actress, who has already landed a prime role in Marc Cherry’s soapy pilot “Devious Maids,” has just booked a recurring guest-starring spot on “Army Wives,” reuniting her with former “AMC” costar Kim Delaney.
Lifetime announced that Lucci will make several special appearances in a recurring role as Audrey, the wife of a retired Brigadier General. Her first episode, “Learning Curve,” airs Sunday, March 18 at 9 p.m. on Lifetime. The episode description says that “Claudia Joy (Delaney) feels threatened by Denise’s friendship with Jackie Clarke (Kelli Williams) and starts to confide in an old friend, Audrey (Lucci).”
The episode also features a special performance by country singer and Army vet Craig Morgan.
“Army Wives” follows the adventures of a group of women living on an active army post and is currently in its sixth season. Luci recently guest-starred on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland.”
