Note to Taylor Momsen
: If you’re going on tour, maybe check a map before heading on stage.
The child star-turned-rocker managed to offend an entire country with one careless slipup on Saturday (Dec. 18).
While performing in Glasgow (that’s in Scotland), Momsen kicked off her show by telling the audience, “We are The Pretty Reckless and we have heard that Glasgow is the craziest crowd in all of England.”
Understandably, the Scots didn’t
appreciate the geographical error, and booing ensued. The Pretty Reckless
continued though their show, albeit baffled by the crowd’s response,
only to realize the error afterward.
Surprisingly, “Gossip Girl’s”
Little J took to Twitter and actually apologized. “Glasgow, I love
you,” she tweeted on Sunday. “I now HAVE to tour Scotland (haha, sorry
about the slip up!)”
This is hardly the first time Momsen’s made headlines for her antics (though usually they’re intentional). Following a flashing episode
during an October performance, she was indefinitely suspended from The CW series. The suspension
is, the show’s producers insist, only a creative decision.
There’s still at least one person that still has Jenny Humphrey’s back — her on-screen stepmother, Kelly Rutherford
Rutherford, who plays socialite Lily van deer Woodsen on “GG,” tells
HollywoodLife that “Her passion has just really become her music.
Taylor’s out there doing her music and if you hear her music you
understand why she is so passionate.”
She continues, “I love Jenny Humphrey, but Jenny Humphrey really loves rock and roll.”
also defends Momsen’s antics, saying “I think she’s young and is
exploring her world and she’s exploring being an artist. I think it’s
important to be fully expressed.”
Fully expressed or fully obnoxious, we hope this little “Gossip Girl” can mature into a “Gossip Young Adult” real soon.
