Leah Calvert’s struggles this season of “Teen Mom 2” have revolved around two things: her daughter’s medical treatment and the rising pile of bills.
However, Calvert revealed on Twitter on Aug. 28 “I’m looking for a child’s saddle and a child’s handicapped saddle! We just got our first horse and the girls are going to be ready to ride!”
The new purchase doesn’t jive well with the massive fights Leah has been having on camera with her husband Jeremy about trying to pay for rising medical bills and keep a roof over their heads. Calvert also opened up to InTouch Weekly
about their financial woes, saying, “It’s stressful because insurance doesn’t cover the whole cost. One bill alone was $20,000.”
A later tweet implies that the horse may have been bought with the intention of hippotherapy for Calvert’s daughter Aliannah — who suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy — Is insurance covering equestrian training and boarding these days though? These numbers don’t seem to add up.
“Teen Mom 2” airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
