Though “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice and husband Joe are facing some major prison time following their recent indictments for tax fraud and conspiracy, the reality star has no plans to pull back from the cameras.
“Teresa has no plans to stop filming,” a show insider tells In Touch magazine. The hit Bravo series is halfway through Season 5, meaning it’s too early for an official decision on a sixth season, but, if the show’s usual schedule is followed, filming for Season 5 would begin in November.
The show source tells the magazine that Giudice plans to appear on the Season 5 reunion episode in September. “She would never miss it,” the insider says.
Should Giudice actually make it to the reunion filming, one thing is certain — She and the other Garden State ladies won’t be able to talk about her legal issues, as they are ongoing. “It will have to stick to show drama,” the source adds. “She’s putting on a face because she doesn’t want anyone, especially Melissa [Gorga, her sister-in-law,] to see her sweat.”
The Giudices are charged with 39 counts of defrauding the IRS and multiple banking institutions between 2001 and 2008. At a federal court hearing on Tuesday (July 30), both were released on a total of $1 million bond, $500,000 each. Judge Cathy Walder ordered the pair to surrender their passports and forbade them from traveling outside New York and New Jersey.
The next hearing in their case is scheduled for Aug. 14. If convicted, they could face up to 50 years in prison, and Joe, a citizen of Italy and not the U.S., could face deportation.
