“Castle” stars Tamala Jones and Jon Huertas have collaborated on a short film, “The Box,” making its debut at the Dances with Films Festival on Wednesday (June 4). Watch a trailer for the film here.
“The Box” tells the story of Adeline (Jones), a field slave, and Coffey (Huertas), a mulatto house slave, trapped together in a dire situation in the year 1840. The two must somehow find understanding and love out of their despair.
Huertas and Jones developed the concept for the film, while Huertas and Ben Cory Jones wrote the script. Huertas also co-directed “The Box,” along with Andrew Bikichky (a “Castle” camera operator). Nicole Rodgers (assistant director on “Castle”) is the producer.
