The highly anticipated film adaptation of “The Fault in Our Stars” is continuing to flesh out its main cast with the addition of “True Blood” star Sam Trammell.
On Wednesday (Aug. 14), TheWrap reports that Trammel will play Shailene Woodley‘s father in the adaptation of John Green’s bestselling YA novel. The story follows Hazel (Woodley) as she meets and falls in love with Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort, “Divergent”), a fellow cancer patient she meets in a cancer support group for teenagers.
With this bit of casting news, the only major role left open is that of Peter van Houten, the reclusive, alcoholic author that Hazel and Augustus idolize. Who do you think is right for the part?
“The Fault in Our Stars” goes into production in Pittsburgh later this month, and is slated for a 2014 release date.
Do you think Trammell is right for the role of Hazel’s dad?
