elementary super bowl cbs 'The Good Wife,' 'Elementary' and '2 Broke Girls' renewed as CBS picks up most of its lineupFor the second year in a row, CBS has given mass renewals to the bulk of its prime-time lineup.

The network, the ratings leader among both viewers and adults 18-49 this season, has renewed 18 series for next season (including previously announced pickups). The shows could fill 16 of the 20 original prime-time hours CBS programs each week.

The pickups include some no-brainers — “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Person of Interest,” “2 Broke Girls” — and a couple of mild surprises: Both “The Good Wife” and “The Mentalist,” which Zap2it had pegged as being on the bubble for renewal, will be back.

Other newly announced renewals are comedy “Mike & Molly”; dramas “Elementary,” “Hawaii Five-0” and “Blue Bloods”; unscripted series “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race” and “Undercover Boss”; and “60 Minutes” and “48 Hours” from the news division. The network also wants to bring “Two and a Half Men” back for a 10th season but hasn’t finalized a deal with producer Warner Bros. TV yet.

(CBS picked up “NCIS,” “CSI,” “The Big Bang Theory” and “How I Met Your Mother” for next season prior to Wednesday’s (March 27) announcement.)

Not on the list are rookie dramas “Vegas” and “Golden Boy” and veteran “CSI: NY” and comedy “Rules of Engagement.” They’ll have to wait it out until May, when CBS announces its schedule for 2013-14
