Though fans will have to wait until November 22 to see “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” it will make its debut nearly two weeks earlier at a world premiere taking place in London. The announcement was made by Lionsgate, who marks November 11 as the date of the premiere.
The movie will open in most major international territories on the same day, something becoming more common with larger releases. The second installment in the “Hunger Games” franchise picks up where the first left off, with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) adjusting to life as victors of the 74th annual Hunger Games.
The movie also stars Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Jena Malone, Sam Claflin and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
