Four districts down, eight to go, “Hunger Games” fans.
It’s time to meet your District 3 tributes: Newcomers Ian Nelson and Kalia Prescott. In the dystopian novel by Suzanne Collins, we never learn the name of Nelson and Prescott’s characters; Prescott’s character shares a heartbreaking goodbye with her family and Nelson’s character is skilled in electronics and technology, which is what their region is known for.
As we previously stated, Nelson and Prescott are pretty new to Hollywood, though Prescott has some film credits as a stunt girl.
Already cast as tributes in the film are leads Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss) and Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), who represent District 12. Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi will play District 11’s Rue and Thresh, while Levin Rambin and Jack Quaid will play District 1’s Glimmer and Marvel. Also starring in the film are Liam Hemsworth (Gale) and Willow Shields (Prim). Elizabeth Banks is in talks to play Effie and John C. Reilly is rumored to be playing Haymitch.
“The Hunger Games” hits theaters Mar. 23, 2012.
