Damon Lindelof‘s follow-up to “Lost” is officially a go at HBO.
On Monday (Sept. 16), the pay cabler announced that it had given “The Leftovers” a 10-episode series order. Lindelof’s project, which takes place after the Rapture occurs, but not quite like it’s supposed to, was co-written by Tom Perrotta, based on Perrotta’s novel of the same name.
The story of the people who didn’t make the cut, and a world that will never be the same, stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Carrie Coon, Emily Meade, Amanda Warren, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Max Carver, Charlie Carver, Annie Q, Paterson Joseph and Brad Leland.
Lindelof will serve as showrunner, as well as executive producer. He’ll share EP duties with Perrotta and Peter Berg, who also directed the pilot.
