“Get the Girl” features a lovestruck Andy (Ed Helms) driving from Scranton to Tallahassee to get Erin (Ellie Kemper) and bring her home. However, in his absence, Nellie (Catherine Tate), fresh off her turn at Sabre, has shown up at the Scranton office and, without Andy there and without Robert (Spader) willing to tell her otherwise, she opts to step in as manager and promptly begins reviews — based on first impressions. Raises (which one assumes she can’t actually dole out) and praise abounds, quickly winning over everyone in the office — except Jim (John Krasinski).
In Florida, Erin has become a (really bad) maid for oldster Irene, and when Andy arrives to sweep her off her feet, she promptly rejects him — with good cause: He’s still dating Jessica. Plus, as Erin later points out, he broke her heart. To which Andy replies with an earnest, “I’m so sorry that we have not loved each other at the same time,” before driving off in his Prius to head back to Scranton without his girl.
Then, after a short chat with Irene — and for not entirely understandable reasons — Erin dashes off after Andy to stop his Prius (well, first she stops someone else’s Prius by accident) and tell him, “Andy, I love you,” before joining him in his Prius — and clueing him in on her lack of dental hygiene — on the trek back to Scranton.
But will he have a job when he gets there?
