What it seems like, though, instead of David’s wealthy, neurotic, crotchety, awkward shenanigans that can be played out on HBO, is more of a look into the lives of stay-at-home dads led by the semi-retired comedian Paul Reiser. Reiser just isn’t as interesting as David, plus the show is on NBC, which has more restrictions on content.
Did you like it? We aren’t sure about it yet. The supporting cast was actually more funny than the Paul Reiser/Larry David stuff, we thought. We will give it a few episodes to really find the funny, but we aren’t sure it’ll get there.
It did make us nostalgic, though. Not only for “Mad About You,” but also for “My Two Dads.” Maybe NBC can bring those back.
