Elisabeth Hasselbeck is shocked about the staffing shakeup on “The View” too, the former cohost said on her new show, “FOX and Friends,” after the news of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy’s departure was revealed.
News broke Thursday evening that Shepherd and McCarthy had been fired, but it appeared later after a tweet from McCarthy that she decided to leave the show in solidarity with Shepherd.
Hasselbeck, who now hosts FOX News’ morning show, “FOX and Friends,” said on-air Friday (June 27), “I was shocked, in some ways,” when the news broke, and she planned to speak to her former coworker shortly. She also said that she assumed Shepherd was shocked as well. “Even if you think that might happen one day, I’m sure it would come across to be a shock.”
Shepherd and Hasselbeck have apparently stayed close since the latter left “The View” in July 2013, with Shepherd even appearing on Hasselbeck’s first “FOX and Friends” show in September.
