The venerable newswoman celebrated the holiday in her best Katy Perry costume, styled after the pop star’s look in her jungle-themed “Roar” music video, but adding her 2013 VMAS gold grill into the mix. Walters spent the show’s first segment with the bling in her mouth, but proved incomprehensible and returned from commercial break grill-free.
Joining in on the fun, Sherri Shepherd did her best Khaleesi, dressed as HBO’s “Game of Thrones” Dothraki queen, replete with three dragons orbiting her head. Jenny McCarthy took on Miley Cyrus’ tongue, while Whoopi Goldberg went a bit further back in time for her costume inspiration, dressing as Ben Kingsley’s The Mandarin from this summer’s “Iron Man 3.”
Bringing down the group a bit was guest co-host Mario Cantone, whose Justin Bieber felt a little lacking without the blonde wig. Try again, Mario!
The episode featured segments with “Long Island Medium” Theresa Caputo channeling audience member’s dead loved ones and comedian Jeff Ross roasting dead celebrities — just want everyone wants from their morning TV on Halloween.
