On Tuesday, Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green said goodbye to one more contestant each in “The Voice” quarterfinals round, reducing their teams to just two members each. Before the bloodbath began, though, Florence and the Machine joined Team Cee Lo for their new single, “Breath of Life.” Can we just listen to her all the time?
America saved Tony Lucca from Team Adam — no surprise after his fun Britney Spears song choice. With Pip eliminated yesterday, that left Mathai and Katrina Parker to sing for their lives. Mathai chose Carrie Underwood’s “Cowboy Casanova,” which Blake appreciated. Katrina sang “Perfect,” and though she was nervous, the song made Christina Aguilera anxious to hear Katrina’s original material.
Ultimately, Adam chose Katrina to stick around. Her celebration was short-lived, though, because she’s grown close to Mathai and felt conflicted about the elimination.
On Team Cee-Lo, America saved Jamar Rogers, leaving Cheesa and Juliet Simms to sing for their lives. This one seemed like an obvious win for Juliet, and when Cheesa’s version of “Already Gone” was too pitchy for the judge, it sealed the deal. Juliet’s version of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” won over the coaches — including Cee-Lo, who said goodbye to Mathai.
This leaves Tony and Katrina to stand for Team Adam, and Juliet and Jamar on Team Cee-Lo. Who do you think has the best chance of winning?
