“The Voice” is starting to separate the real deal from the wannabes as it narrows down to the Top 8 Tuesday (April 29). Who went home?
The singers declared safe were Christina Grimmie, Sisaundra Lewis, Kristen Merlin, Josh Kaufman, Audra McLaughlin, Delvin Choice and Jake Worthington, leaving the Bottom 3 as Kat Perkins, Tess Boyer and Bria Kelly.
Again, who is voting? Are they deaf? Jake Worthington has been the worst singer two weeks in a row now. Bria and Tess weren’t great, so it’s understandable that they are in the bottom, but Kat Perkins has no business being in danger.
For their last-ditch performances, Bria sings “Crazy on You” by Heart and it’s OK but her goat-y vibrato is on overdrive again and we would not be surprised if she goes home. Tess sings “Who Knew” by Pink and it’s also just OK — she is nearly inaudible on the lower stuff because it’s out of her range.
Kat, on the other hand, absolutely nails her song, which is “Paris (Ooh La La)” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. She’s way too talented to be in the bottom, so hopefully the Twitterers save her.
Then when the show comes back from commercial, it is obvious who is safe: Kat has a considerable lead over Bria and Tess, and then they are the two artists who are eliminated.
Other than Jake, Bria and Tess were among the weakest this week, so it’s not a huge controversy that they’re going home. Two people have to leave every week, after all.
What do you think, “Voice” fans?
