“The Walking Dead” has been going full steam ahead in Season 4, but there are still several previously announced new faces who haven’t made an appearance. As the series heads into episode 6, Alanna Masterson‘s character is still MIA, which adds further speculation to the belief that she could be a part of the Governor’s storyline.
When Zap2it caught up with Masterson at “The Walking Dead’s” Season 4 premiere, she was staying mum about her role in the upcoming episodes. She did let it slip that she’ll have some zombie kills, and her real-life relationship with Sonequa Martin-Green seemed to imply Sasha and her character will have scenes together, but beyond that she wouldn’t share much.
“I can tell you that it’s really fun and there’s a lot of action,” Masterson teases of Season 4. “So for the people who love the action and the zombies and the gore, there’s a lot of that. But other than that I can’t tell you anything because it would probably give away some storylines or who I’m with.”
Even without giving away too many details about who she’s playing, Masterson was able to explain why she thinks her character will become a fan favorite. “I think that my character’s really cool. She’s really funny and she’s sort of like in the spirit of play,” she explains. “She’s a good kid. But she’s really funny, kind of ballsy, which I like about her because she’s not some scared thing.”
So what would be her weapon of choice? According to Masterson, she prefers a gun (which clearly means she hasn’t spent much time in the walker-infested world because we all know firing a gun means a heck of a lot of unwanted attention).
“I like a big gun. I also like a little pistol. I play a lot of video games with my brother, so getting to hold a gun and shoot and do all that stuff is really fun. And our props master is amazing. He taught us how to do everything,” Masterson explains. As for her own preference for guns, she says, “I played ‘Call of Duty.’ I have five brothers, so that’s just sort of something I was born with.”
“The Walking Dead” airs Sundays on AMC at 9 p.m. Are you excited to finally meet Masterson’s character?
