Carol Peletier, is that you? In a new “The Walking Dead” teaser that aired on Jan. 26, a shot of a hand holding a gun looks like it very well could be our dearly departed Carol … if we’re assuming she never changed between her last encounter with Rick and where she is in this scene (which very well could be the case).
Meanwhile, a less spoiler-filled trailer focuses on the “don’t look back” tagline that’s been the backbone of the Season 4b promotion. Here again we seem to see Tyreese with Lizzie and Mika, which could mean an interesting confrontation between him and Carol (if, again, she that is her in the above trailer).
AMC also released two new images from the upcoming episode 9, “After,” online. In one Michonne has found herself two new pets. Does this mean she’s going to be setting out on her own now that she’s separated from everyone else?
Then in the other still, Carl holds himself while Rick lies seemingly unconscious in the background. Considering the last time we saw these two in this room Carl was yelling at Rick to wake up, this doesn’t bode well for the former Prison leader.
The official synopsis for “After” reads: “Following the devastating events of the midseason finale, Rick and the group are still reeling from the loss of their home, family, and friends. With the destruction of the prison, we see the group of survivors broken apart and sent on divergent paths, unsure of everyone else’s fate. What was a challenging life behind fences and walls grows that much more perilous and precious as they are exposed to new dangers, new enemies, and heartbreaking choices. They will have their faith thoroughly tested — a faith that breaks some of them and redeems others.”
“The Walking Dead” returns from its midseason break on Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
