“The Walking Dead”
fans don’t have to worry about the show having an end in sight. While some writing teams come in with a set-season plan, David Alpert says “The Walking Dead” can go on for as long as Robert Kirkman’s comic book series.
“I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what Season 10 is gonna be. We know where Season 11 and 12 [will be],” Alpert says at the Producers Guild of America Produced By panel, via IndieWire. “We have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we’re lucky enough to get there.”
Currently the show is shooting Season 5, and as one of the top-viewed shows on cable, chances are AMC won’t be canceling it any time soon. The network also is currently developing a spinoff series that is not specifically based on Kirkman’s comics.
