Tiger Woods is returning to some familiar territory to kick off his 2013 golf season.
Just like in 2012, Woods has revealed he’s going to be making his first appearance at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in the United Arab Emirates, which runs Jan. 17 to 20. But since that event is being held a week earlier than it was last year, Woods also will be able to make his PGA Tour debut at the Farmers Insurance Open from Jan. 24 to 27 at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, Calif. Woods made the announcements on his website.
“I’m excited to compete again. I had a good break and went to see Stanford beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. Hopefully my good practice sessions will carry over,” says Woods in a statement. “Obviously, I’ve had good success at Torrey Pines. I practically grew up playing the South and North Courses. The fans have always been supportive, and I look forward to returning.”
Woods is currently ranked as the no. 3 golfer in the world.
