These days, it seems almost impossible to find an awards show host whose performance people universally enjoy, which is why news that NBC is hoping to lock Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in for a second go-round as co-hosts of the Golden Globes following their successful showing this year makes perfect sense.
Deadline reports that NBC and Globes producer Dick Clark Productions are beginning talks about a possible return to hosting duties. The reports indicates that the two funny ladies deal for 2013’s ceremony was inked as a one-time thing, with no obligation to return.
As of press time, NBC has only put out an informal invitation, meant to simply gauge interest, though its expected that more active conversations will begin in September, with the goal to have a host in place by the end of November.
With Fey and Poehler as hosts in 2013, the ceremony drew 19.7 million viewers, up 17% from the year earlier, making it one of the most watched Globes ever.
Do you hope Fey and Poehler will return or would you rather NBC find some new hosts?
