Fey and Robert Carlock, her co-showrunner on “30 Rock,” will executive produce a comedy pilot for the network, Deadline reports. Colleen McGuinness, a writer and producer on the final two seasons of the series, is writing the script.
The untitled show centers on a young woman who, in hopes of reconnecting with her dad, moves to New York’s Fire Island and finds a surrogate family at her new job. McGuinness will executive produce alongside Fey and Carlock.
Fey signed a four-year development deal with Universal Television last year as “30 Rock” was entering its final season. The McGuinness comedy is the first show developed under that deal.
