TNT has picked up “Memphis Beat” for a second season and “Hawthorne” for a third. Both shows will return in 2011 and run for 10 episodes. [TNT]

Speaking of TNT, the cable channel will help fans gear up for the return of “Supernatural” on The CW with a 19-episode marathon leading up to the season premiere. It starts at midnight Sept. 23. [TNT]

Stephen Lang, last seen menacing Na’vi in “Avatar,” has signed on to star opposite Jason O’Mara in FOX’s “Terra Nova.” He’ll play the leader of the colony of time travelers. [Deadline]

“Saturday Night Live” announcer Don Pardo is reportedly considering retirement. It’s something he’s talked about before, as recently as a year ago, but we won’t know for sure until the Sept. 25 premiere. [Variety]

Brian Austin Green‘s “Desperate Housewives” family is complete: Nancy Travis (late of “The Bill Engvall Show”) will play the mother of Green’s character (even though she’s only 11 years older in real life) and John Schneider‘s wife. [EW]

NBC and Jimmy Fallon will produce a game-show pilot called “That’s a Record.” It’s based on feats in the Universal Records Database, which tracks such records as Tallest Saltine Cracker Tower and Most Office Chair Spins in 30 Seconds. [Variety]
