“True Blood” came strong into its seventh and final season. The premiere episode brought in 4 million viewers for its first airing, and a total of 5.8 million viewers for the entire night, HBO reveals.
That total number is up from the Season 6 premiere total viewership, which brought in 5.6 million viewers for the night. However, the premiere audience is down from Season 6’s 4.5 million. HBO says that “True Blood” averaged 10.7 million viewers for Season 6.
Those numbers are still down from “True Blood’s” heyday in its middle seasons. The series’ best premiere was for Season 4, which brought in 5.4 million viewers. Its best finale was in Season 3, when it brought in 5.38 million live viewers.
“True Blood” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
