AMC’s Revolutionary War spy drama “Turn” will live to see another day. The network announced that a 10-episode Season 2 will premiere in spring 2015.
Additionally, AMC is going to pair encore viewings of “Turn” with “Hell on Wheels” over the summer to try to grab a wider audience. “Turn” averaged 2 million viewers per episode in its inaugural run.
Following the Season 1 finale, Zap2it spoke with “Turn” showrunner Craig Silverstein about his plans for Season 2. He promised more historical figures, including Benedict Arnold, and more trouble with Simcoe and Robert Rogers, as well as higher stakes.
“The intelligence from the Culper Ring actually begins to pay off big dividends,” he says of Season 2. “It’s the thing that keeps the Continental Army alive at certain times. Showing that is going to be really fun, because they go on some missions, and some of those missions are ones that people may remember from your history books in terms of the battles. To see how the Culper Ring was instrumental in turning the tide one way or the other with their intelligence I think’s pretty exciting. They play at a much higher level than Season 1.”
