The finale of “The Bachelorette” didn’t deliver much in the way of surprises, but it did bring home some solid ratings and carried ABC to a win Sunday night.

The finale was up some over last year’s final rose ceremony and gave ABC its best non-sports summer numbers in several years. Elsewhere, the Teen Choice Awards on FOX fell overall from last year, but they did lead the night in the target audience of, you guessed it, teenagers.

ABC averaged 7.9 million viewers and a 5.0 rating/9 share in households in primetime, easily topping second-place CBS’ 5.2 million viewers and 3.4/6. NBC (3.6 million 2.4/4) came in third, and FOX (2.7 million, 1.6/3) trailed.

ABC also scored a sizable win in the adults 18-49 demographic — its 2.6 rating more than doubled the average for CBS (1.2). FOX drew a 1.0 in the demo and NBC a 0.9.
