jocasta julie chen big brother 16 TV ratings: 'Big Brother' tops the demo, but NFL preseason games inflate nearly all the ratingsFast National ratings for Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014

This week, ABC, CBS and FOX were all preempted in various markets for NFL pre-season games. In addition, ABC and NBC cut away from their programming at approximately 9:30 p.m. ET for President Obama’s address about the situation in Iraq. This means that many of the Fast National ratings for the network shows will adjust down after the final overnight numbers come in.

That being said, ABC’s new Medieval reality competition show “The Quest” held steady from its premiere numbers a week ago, though 2.8 million viewers is still not great. “Big Brother 16’s” first live double eviction episode of the summer was the top show of the night in the 18-49 demo once again, though that number may come down after the NFL games are factored out.

CBS won the night with 7.1 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/8 share in households. ABC trailed in second place with 4.4 million and a 2.8/5, followed by NBC at 3.8 million, 2.5/4, FOX at 2.9 million, 1.8/3 and The CW at 704,000 and 0.5/1.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS was again the winner with a 2.0 rating, followed by NBC at 1.0, ABC and FOX tied at 0.9 and The CW at 0.3.
