An aesthetically unpleasant final NCAA tournament game drove its ratings down compared to last year, but UConn’s victory over Butler still gave CBS a demographic win Monday night. “Dancing With the Stars” remained at the top of the overall ratings, slipping a little from its first two weeks but still drawing better than 21 million viewers.

ABC ended up leading the night overall with 18.15 million viewers and an 11.4 rating/17 share in households. CBS (14.4 million, 8.6/13) came in second; its numbers will change some in the final nationals because of the live telecast. There was a steep drop from there to third-place NBC (4.6 million), which finished a little ahead of FOX (4.15 million, 2.6/4). The CW’s reruns drew just 771,000 people and a 0.5/1.

CBS led the adults 18-49 demo with a 5.0 rating, a point better than ABC’s 4.0. None of the other networks was really a factor: FOX took third with a 1.3, followed by NBC, 1.1, and The CW, 0.3.
