We know Kellan Lutz for a lot of things, but his acting talents aren’t necessarily one of them. He’s had starring roles in “The Twilight Saga,” “Immortals” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” but never got to do much more than show off his muscles and have a line here and there. Despite having a little bit more to do in “90210,” we would argue that Lutz still has plenty of room to grow.
Apparently he plans to do just that. The 27-year-old recently sat down with DuJour magazine and claims that he’s going to get recognition for his acting abilities one day.
“I want to act for the rest of my life,” he says. “I’ll win an Oscar one day, but I’m in no rush to get there. I don’t care if that takes me 50 years, and I’m old. I just love what I do.”
That’s certainly something to strive for. Lutz has the final “Twilight” film, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2,” out next, and is starring in a remake of “Tarzan” as the title character in 2013. But since “Tarzan” is a motion-capture animated production, we doubt that people will be paying much attention to Lutz’s acting in the film.
Even if Lutz doesn’t win an Oscar, he does have a back-up career: chemistry.
“[It’s my] biggest passion in life,” Lutz says, claiming he has two inventions that he’s seeking patents for. “It’s great because acting has given me the resources and platform to help charities but also the money to create my inventions and pay for the patent process. Attorneys aren’t cheap!”
