The residents of Chester’s Mill managed to survive their first season on “Under the Dome,” and the DVD collection (to be released on Nov. 5) of that season is ready to look back at the strange, Stephen King-created world. What’s coming in those DVDs? Check out this exclusive video for a sneak peek.
In the video, you can see a clip from one of the DVD special features, “Under the Dome: The First Season.” Commentary from the production team and cast members (Alexander Koch and Colin Ford) highlights segments on stunts, special effect, intense plot moments and storyboards.
Other features included on the DVD are:
- “Stephen King and ‘Under the Dome'”: Stephen King provides insight on how his story transitioned to television.
- “Under the Dome: From Novel to Series”: The story of how the TV show came to Amblin Television and to CBS is told, along with a trip to the show’s writers’ room for a bit about character development.
- “The World of ‘Under the Dome'”: A set visit to Chester’s Mill and a look at costume design illustrate the show’s world.
- “Under the Dome: Filming the Pilot”: The cast, crew and director (Niels Arden Oplev) discuss the making of the “Under the Dome” pilot.
Focusing on the small town of Chester’s Mill, “Under the Dome” tells the tale of a town suddenly and inexplicably cut off from the rest of the world. The first season shows the residents coming to grips with their new situation and trying to find clues to explain the dome’s very existence.
A second season is expected on CBS in the summer of 2014. The first season will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
