“Up All Night” is moving to Thursdays after “The Office” in January, and the additional episodes will add to the number of originals available in the higher-profile timeslot. It’s also another vote of confidence for the show, which has been among the few semi-bright spots for NBC so far this season.
Although its ratings are hardly world-beating — it’s averaging 6.24 million viewers and a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49 — the show has improved on NBC’s season-ago numbers in its current timeslot (8 p.m. ET Wednesdays). The series it’s swapping time periods with, “Whitney,” draws 5.53 million viewers and a 2.7 in the 18-49 demographic.
Wednesday’s (Nov. 23) “Up All Night,” meanwhile, features a second appearance by guest star Jason Lee as Ava’s (Rudolph) new boyfriend, Kevin. In the clip below, he and Chris (Arnett) discuss the relationship — and why it’s important to keep the baby wipes box closed.
