Can’t wait until April 6 for Season 4 of “Game of Thrones” to premiere? Well, if you’re willing to go on a trip, you won’t have.
“A Song of Ice and Fire” author George R.R. Martin revealed on his website that he will be hosting several free screenings of the Season 4 premiere at his Santa Fe, N.M., theater, the Jean Cocteau Cinema. The screening events will be held on Saturday, March 29, eight days before the season premiere airs on HBO.
There will be three screenings in total. The first will be held the morning of the 29th, and it will be Spanish language for the members of the Hispanic community in New Mexico. The second, held in the afternoon, will be English language.
Both of these screenings are available to the general public. Tickets to the 125-seat theater will be available during giveaways at Martin’s free marathon screenings and normal movie showings, and by waiting in line at the theater day-of. Each ticket admits two.
The third screening will be held the night of the 29th, and it’s invitation-only. For that event, there will be a red carpet and a “huge party” at the Sanbusco Center after.
Meanwhile, HBO will again be hosting a big “Game of Thrones” premiere event in mid-March. As Martin makes sure to clarify, that is not the same as the events he is throwing in Santa Fe.
