Bradley Whitford is back on TV with the excellent new ABC comedy “Trophy Wife,” where he plays Pete, a guy with the non-traditional family of a wife, two ex-wives and three children. But he is perhaps best known for his role of Josh Lyman on “The West Wing” for seven seasons on NBC.
When Zap2it recently interviewed him about “Trophy Wife,” we had to ask what he thinks Josh and Donna are up to in the “West Wing” universe — are they married?
“Yes,” says Whitford. “Don’t you think they have to be? I think they finally acknowledged the gorilla in the room.”
“I think Donna probably chose to take some time off to be with the kids and made sure that Josh hired a very matronly assistant,” he laughs.
“Trophy Wife” airs Tuesday nights at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Whitford can also be seen in upcoming Tom Hanks movie “Saving Mr. Banks,” which opens nationwide on Friday, Dec. 20.
