Twitter has launched its Twitter Music app Thursday (April 18) — but what exactly is it?
According to ABC News, which got an exclusive early look, the program is designed to help Twitter users find music that’s trending on Twitter while also promoting “hidden talent found in tweets” via the Emerging tab.
The Suggested tab will act like a Pandora station — showing you artists you might like based on what artists you follow and who they follow on Twitter. And the #NowPlaying tab will show you what your Twitter friends are listening to or tweeting about.
Further, Twitter is using music services like Spotify and iTunes to allow users to play the songs right on the app or webpage. The iPhone app will be available Thursday in the Apple App Store. There is not an Android app available yet.
Have you tried it out? What did you think?
