The U.K.’s Sun newspaper is reporting Sunday (March 4) that the late Whitney Houston had a secret affair with Jermaine Jackson, brother to Michael Jackson. The paper also claims Houston’s 1985 hit “Saving All My Love For You” is about her love for Jackson, as the song details a woman being in love with a married man and waiting to be with him.
A friend of both Whitney and Jermaine says, “Her death has devastated Jermaine because of the history between them. No one understood the scale of his grief because they didn’t know what they shared.”
The Sun also claims Michael Jackson was one of the few people who knew about the affair, but he didn’t approve of it. And that Whitney comforted Jermaine after Michael’s death in 2009.
The pair reportedly met in the early 1980s when Jermaine to produce Whitney’s music and duet with her. He was married to Hazel Gordy at the time.
Jermaine wrote in his 2011 book “You Are Not Alone: Michael, Through a Brother’s Eyes”, “Whitney and I spoke about our shared predicament. As much as I wanted to lose myself in these feelings, I told her to wait. I spoke of ‘one day’ and ‘maybe.’ Ultimately, we had to go our separate ways and it killed us both.”
But Jermaine’s friend tells The Sun, “Jermaine didn’t tell even half the story in his book. He made it sound like they flirted and backed away. But they were lovers … the reason it ended was because Jermaine wouldn’t leave his wife – and Whitney was angry. The video ‘Saving All My Love For You’ was about all of that.”
The friend adds, “Jermaine remains on good terms with Whitney’s family. He knows they know. But Whitney was no husband-stealer. She just happened to fall for a married guy.”
Below is a video of Jermaine and Whitney singing a duet in 1984 and below that is the “Saving All My Love For You” video, which does have a man in it who bears a striking resemblance to Jermaine.
