Support for the L.A. Kings hockey team in the NHL finals goes as far as New York, the home of Stanley Cup competitors, the Rangers. And a billboard featuring Will Ferrell proves it.
The Kings bought video-billboard space to show Ferrell pumping up and screaming at Kings fans, apparently meant as an intimidation tactic. Ferrell’s ad showed up on Friday (June 6) outside of Madison Square Garden prior to Game 2 of the finals. It may have worked — the Kings won that game in overtime.
New Yorkers, of course, couldn’t resist posting photos and video of the billboard to social media. Twitter user Matt Kolowski snapped the following image:

Meanwhile on Instagram, The Royal Half **http://instagram.com/theroyalhalf posted a video version of the billboard:
This very well could be the hockey scream heard ’round the world.
