electrical malfunction occurred when lights making snowflakes were
supposed to transform into the five Olympic rings. While four of the
five lit up as expected, the final ring remained a snowflake, according
to the Hollywood Reporter.
malfunctions of this sort are not unusual during grand events like the
opening ceremony, the electrical problems come after multiple reports of
unfinished hotels and bad water. Officials in Sochi are likely hoping
that this is it for technical issues.
Twitter, of course, loved this.
