On CMT’s “Working Class,” single mom Carli (played by Melissa Peterman) has moved her family to an upscale suburb. And Steve Kazee plays Nick, Carli’s musician brother. Funny, handsome, and immature, Nick can be a comfort for Carli some of the time, but he can also be just as much of a handful as her kids.
The Kentucky native has played Sir Lancelot in the Broadway production of “Spamalot.” And before landing the regular role on “Working Class,” Kazee, 35, has appeared on “CSI,” “NCIS,” “Medium,” and “As the World Turns.”
In Friday’s (Feb. 18) episode, Carli tries to teach her kids not to be judgmental when “The Drew Carey Show’s” Kathy Kinney guest stars as the kids’ lunch lady. But Carli’s plan may backfire when the lunch lady wants to put Nick on the night’s menu.
On the CMT show, Kazee’s character has no problem laying it all out there, so we decided he’d be the perfect candidate to play Zap2it’s Celeb Slam Book.
Find out who Steve Kazee has a “Titanic” celebrity crush on plus nine more dishy confessions:
1.) Tell us one thing we don’t know about you.
I am obsessed with astrophysics and anything to do with the universe. Total space nerd!
2.) Who was the first girl you kissed?
The first girl I kissed was Terri Cress in elementary school in between the stacks of books at the Boyd Co. Public Library. It was such an innocent kiss, but still to this day I remember it vividly.
3.) If you could trade lives with someone for one day, who would it be and why?
Daniel Day-Lewis. I would just love to swim around in his actor skin for the day and find out what’s going on that makes him such a fabulous actor.
4.) If you had to choose another career, what would you be?
An Astrophysicist. I have, in all honesty, thought many times about cashing it in and going back to school to get my degree in Astrophysics. It is a deep, deep passion of mine.
5.) Which other celebrity do you find attractive?
I would have to say that I have always thought that Kate Winslet was the definition of beauty.
6.) Do you screen your phone calls? Whose do you always answer?
Of course I do! Doesn’t everyone? I always answer for my mom, though – always without pause. I also always answer a call from my ‘Working Class’ costar, Melissa Peterman.
7.) What super power would you like to have?
I am sure it is clich, but I would say the power of flight. I would love to soar above the earth unhindered. I feel like it would be so peaceful.
8.) Favorite alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink?
Knob Creek Bourbon neat.
9.) What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
Play/ listen to music. I am writing a lot these days in hopes of making an album at some point in the future. Music was my love long before acting. I was really glad that my character on ‘Working Class’ was a struggling musician.
10.) What’s your favorite song to sing in the car?
Anything by Mumford and Sons at the moment. I would say “Roll Away Your Stone” to be more specific.
“Working Class” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on CMT.
