10 Spoilers: '90210' Season 5 seeks Ryan Gosling, Shawn and Juliet sort of split on 'Psych,' and Amy Smart returns to 'Men at Work'
This week's Monday Kickstart includes scoop on a "Suits" flashback episode, a "Psych" alternate reality episode, a familiar face on "Men at Work," and some insight into Melissa's baby on "Pretty Little Liars." Plus -- does "Bunheads" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino want Shonda Rhimes' kids to watch her show or what?
"Men at Work": Zap2it has exclusively confirmed that Amy Smart, who appeared as Lisa and broke Milo's heart in the pilot, will be returning to the show for the season finale. Lisa's definitely got an agenda -- but does she want to get back together? Or is she on the path to hurt him again?
"Bunheads": It appears that Shonda Rhimes' tweet about the show's lack of racial diversity and the media coverage that followed made an impact for creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Two days after the controversy developed, "Bunheads" put out a casting call for a 17-year-old bossy cheerleader -- and they specified that they're looking for someone Asian, Indian, or African-American to play the role.
"Suits": Ready for a flashback? In episode 208, aptly titled "Rewind," we'll see Pearson Hardman as it was five years ago, when Harvey wasn't quite so... Harvey. Turns out, back then he had some stiff competition on the fast track to partner. Said competition was Monica Egan -- who is no longer at the firm. Wait til you find out why!
"Psych": Alternate universe episodes! After a party at which Shawn maybe celebrates a little too much, his reality splits up -- we'll see a world in which he and Juliet stay together, and a world in which they break up. Just Shawn's luck... there's a killer on the loose in both realities, and he or she seems to be on a quest to murder all of the Swedes in Santa Barbara. The whole thing centers around Elin, a sexy au pair who definitely got involved with the wrong family. We're more concerned about which reality will turn out to be... well... reality.
"Shameless": In the first episode of Season 3, Estefania's Brazilian druglord dad, Nando, comes to town to check up on Jimmy -- and he leaves his henchman, Beto, behind to keep an eye on things. Beto doesn't mind sticking around (which he will, for at least five episodes) because he's got a serious crush on Fiona.
"90210": Seeking Ryan Gosling. A hot, 25-year-old club promoter is headed to everyone's favorite zip code, and producers are looking to cast an actor with the charisma and swagger of Gosling's "Crazy Stupid Love" character. In case that's not aiming high enough, we'll also meet an Ivy League-educated tech guy who can be a little ruthless -- they're looking, specifically, for someone like Justin Timberlake in "The Social Network." Both these guys will be around for a while at the beginning of the season, if not longer. Timberlake and Gosling? Yeah, we'll tune in for that.
"Real Housewives of Orange County": Preview clips of Tuesday's season finale (Part 1) reveal the return of ex-housewife Jeana. But what the promos don't tell you is that Jeana and Tamara resolve their argument on-camera, and depart as... friends?!
"Pretty Little Liars": The Hastings family secret that Spencer discovers has something to do with big sis Melissa and her baby. The revelation leads Spencer to do some her own investigating to learn the truth about her family.
"Once Upon a Time": Is Mulan coming to the fairy tale world? Producers are on the hunt to find an Asian actress to play "Magnolia," a beautiful woman who seems delicate but is actually a fierce warrior -- let's just say she could defeat just about any man with a sword in her hand. She does have a soft side, though, and a very deep, spiritual connection with nature and animals.
"Futurama": We already know the Planet Express crew will face the end of the world and deal with an election this season, but EP David X. Cohen also tells us the show will return to Bender's home world -- not seen since way back in Season 1 -- for an episode called "Free Will Hunting," in which Bender discovers he has no free will. Long-time fans can look for a couple of Easter eggs on the robot home world, and you can look for much more on "Futurama" in the coming days on Zap2it.
