2012 Summer Olympics: 150,000 condoms on hand in Olympic Village

london-olympics-condoms-gi.jpgIt turns out that Olympians have a LOT of down time. In fact, so much down time that organizers of the Summer 2012 games in London have stocked the Athletes' Village with 150,000 condoms in anticipation of all of the behind-the-scenes feats expected to unfold when the games kick off on July 27th.

And this is nothing new In 2008, Beijing's organizers distributed 90,000 -- yes, ninety-thousand -- condoms to athletes. Oh, and Beijing's were printed with the words "Faster, Higher, Stronger."

"70 percent to 75 percent of Olympians are having sex during the Games," says U.S. soccer player Hope Solo.

"The Olympics is the height of your career, so you might do some things you don't usually do," adds British beach volleyball player Shauna Mullin.

So there you have it. Even if your favorite athletes don't snag a gold medal, you can be 70 to 75 percent sure they're scoring anyway.
