The boy band finished third on the U.K. "X Factor" in 2010, but has gone on to become a worldwide sensation with kids today. The group performed on a flatbed truck, flanked by backup dancers, for a rendition of their huge hit "What Makes You Beautiful."

The One Direction boys released their first studio album in 2011, titled "Up All Night," and have a follow-up album set to debut in late 2012 (it is as of yet untitled). They are also planning a worldwide tour for 2013.

What did you think of their Closing Ceremony performance?
