2013 was a very good year for ... Jennifer Lawrence

As far as acting is concerned, Jennifer Lawrence wins 2013. The actress book-ended her year with an Academy Award (plus a bunch of other wins) to start and a Golden Globe nomination to wrap it up. Talk shows -- and everyone else -- love the star of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "American Hustle" and more. And the entire country wants to be her best friend.

J-Law really did have an amazing year, and here are 10 specific reasons why.

1. She won an Oscar.

The young actress was an Academy Awards veteran going into 2013 (she was nominated at the 2011 Oscars for "Winter's Bone"), but that didn't make her "Silver Linings Playbook" win any less exciting.

2. Lawrence made clumsiness cool.

Most normal people figure they'd be klutzes if thrust into the spotlight. Lawrence made us all feel better about that by tripping on her way to accept that Best Actress Oscar.

3. Jack Nicholson photo-bombed her.

4. The Critics' Choice Awards handed over two prizes -- for two separate films.

Lawrence was nominated for three trophies at the 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards. Though she missed out on the overall Best Actress prize, she won both Best Actress in an Action Movie ("The Hunger Games") and Best Actress in a Comedy ("Silver Linings Playbook").

5. Other 2013 nominations and awards come from:

The Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, Australian Film Institute, Central Ohio Film Critics Association, Chicago Film Critics Association, Dallas-Fort Worth Film Critics Association, Empire Awards, Florida Film Critics Circle, Independent Spirit Awards, Irish Film and Television Awards, Kids' Choice Awards, London Critics Circle, MTV Movie Awards, National Society of Film Critics, New York Film Critics Circle, Online Film Critics Society, People's Choice Awards, Phoenix Film Critics Society, Rembrandt Awards, SFX Awards, San Diego Film Critics Society, San Francisco Film Critics Circle, Satellite Awards, Screen Actors' Guild, Southeastern Film Critics Association, Vancouver Film Critics Circle and Washington DC Area Film Critics Association.

6. Lawrence took on the 'Fashion Police.'

The outspoken hosts of E!'s "Fashion Police" can be rather intimidating. But Lawrence didn't seem too worried when she called out the show for insulting people and promoting unrealistic expectations. That's just cool.

7. She had a birthday ... and turned 23.

Yes, Lawrence is only 23 years old. Her success started that young.

8. She hosted 'Saturday Night Live.'

It's one of the truest signs of acting success. Lawrence joined the club in 2013.

9. 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' builds on the first film's success.

In her return to the role of Katniss Everdeen, Lawrence received even more critical acclaim in a huge commercial success.

10. 'American Hustle' brings in even more award nominations.

So far, Lawrence has received award nominations for her "American Hustle" role from the Golden Globes, Screen Actors' Guild and Critics' Choice Awards.
