'2 Broke Girls' Kat Dennings 'loves' 'Thor the Dark World's' Darcy

"We are basically like sisters now," Dennings says. "And we talk every day. We are extremely close."

Now in its third season, the sitcom about two very different young women working at a greasy spoon in Brooklyn has seen the characters evolve.

"When we meet Max, in Season 1, she was hard and jaded and set in her ways and thinking her life will be this one thing," Dennings says. "Caroline opens her outlook. Now she is more kind and outward and more hopeful and a little crazier. Which might be them taking my personality."

Dennings is having a terrific year, one that included reprising her role as Darcy in "Thor: The Dark World."

"Darcy is one of the most fun characters I have ever played," she says. "She did not start out as anything in the script of the other movie. It was vague, and they were trying to figure out who would play her, and it depended on the girl coming in. She evolved from cute little Darcy in the first to this amazing character the second. She makes me laugh out loud, and I love her."

By now, Dennings pretty much inhabits Max.

"In a film, you play a character at most for three or four months," she says. "I am now playing Max for three years. It is more integrated in me than any other character. At work it is hard to distinguish between myself and the character."

Dennings, who had just left the set, says, "It is a very lucky way to make a living."
