'90210' cuts the grown ups: Lori Loughlin and Ryan Eggold out

90210-parents-exit.jpgIn teen television dramas, parents are a necessary evil. No one really cares what happens to them (with the exception of Sandy and Kirsten Cohen, perhaps) but if they're not around, the don't-these-kids-have-parents complaints would never stop.

The cure for the mama drama? College.

A "90210" rep confirms to TVLine that Lori Loughlin and Ryan Eggold, who play the resident MILF and everyone's favorite "cool" teacher respectively, will say goodbye to the show at the end of the current season.

The characters, who have apparently been romantically linked this season while we've been focused on Teddy's coming out story and Naomi's battle with her rapist, join Rob Estes' Principal Wilson and Jennie Garth's Kelly Taylor in the world of M.I.A. grown-ups, leaving "90210" without any regular adult characters

Of course, that's not to say we won't meet a few adult characters when the West Bev class of 2011 heads off the college (and/or the land of the fallen pop star, as may be the case for Adrianna) in Season 4.

In the original "Beverly Hills, 90210" the Walsh parents returned occasionally to check in on their kids (and everyone else's kids), so we wouldn't be surprised to see Loughlin pop up for a guest appearance here and there.
