"West Wing" creator Aaron Sorkin has acquired the rights to "The Politician," the expose about John Edwards. It will be Sorkin's feature directing debut. He'll also write and produce. We hope it's more "A Few Good Men" and "West Wing" Sorkin than "Studio 60" Sorkin. [ THR]

Amy Adams is confirmed to play Janis Jopin in a biopic, which will be directed by Fernando Meirelles ("City of God"). Yes, but who will play Jackie Jormp-Jomp. [ Deadline]

"Usual Suspects" Oscar-winning scribe Christopher McQuarrie has been hired to rework "One Shot," which tells the story of a military sniper accused of murder. He may be in line to direct as well. [ Yahoo]
