Actress Tricia O'Kelley gets her dog back from his kidnapper
The situation began earlier this week when O'Kelley, an actress known for roles on "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine," found that Walter had gone missing. It only got stranger when a man called on Thursday (May 16), demanding a ransom for the dog's return.
O'Kelley and her husband did agree to pay $1000 and were planning to meet the dognapper -- bringing along a police officer -- but the man backed out at the last minute. Turning next to social media, the worried owners reached out to anyone who might have seen Walter.

Fortunately, what was seeming like a dog-owner's worst nightmare finally came to a happy conclusion on Saturday evening (May 18). O'Kelley tweeted a happy message to her followers, along with a picture:
"WE GOT HIM!!!!!!!"
A tweet sent out a short time later featured another photo and assured all those who had helped get the word out that Walter was safe and happy to be home.
How did the happy reunion come about? Although O'Kelley has yet to post the specific details on her Twitter page (probably too busy hugging her puppy for that), a couple of tweets do give the basics. In the first, she posted a photo of two people, with the caption:
"The good Samaritans who found Walter and got him home safely."
When another Twitter user asked where the nice dog lovers had found Walter, O'Kelley gave only a brief reply:
"they dropped him on the street behind my house"
Based on that, it sounds like the jerk holding the dog decided that this wasn't worth the trouble or the police interest. At least the kidnapper had the decency to bring the dog back to the area of his home instead of hurting him or abandoning the puppy far away.
For now though, Walter and Tricia O'Kelley can snuggle.
