Adele's '21' inspiration revealed: Alex Sturrock

adele-grammy-red-carpet.jpgWhile championing someone's heartbreak seems like a cruel thing to do, if Adele hadn't gone through an intensely painful breakup, the world wouldn't have the masterpiece that is her Grammy-winning album "21." So it's okay to be grateful that she went through such a terrible experience and then turned that pain into something beautiful and productive, right?

While it's been rumored that the man behind the heartbreak was a musician named Slinky Sunbeam, a new name has been thrown into the mix: photographer Alex Sturrock.

UK tabloid Heat says that the two dated from 2008 to 2009, and he even became the official photographer on her U.S. tour.

"They met through mutual friends and hit it off straight away. He shot her a few times and that was just it," a source tells the magazine. "They spent all their time together -- and when they weren't together they would ring each other constantly."

Adele hasn't actually named the guy, but she has said they've started to become friends again.

And it doesn't matter anyway -- she's won a ton of Grammys, sold a gazillion albums and is now one of the most universally loved contemporary artists around. Plus, she's totally in love with her new boyfriend, Simon Konecki. That's basically the best way to get back at an ex who broke your heart.
