Hey may still be waffling on whether or not to join the film adaptation of "The Mortal Instruments" books, but Alex Pettyfer has nothing but good things to say about the script and the already cast lead.

While promoting "I Am Number Four," the first installment of another young adult novel franchise, Pettyfer tells MTV News that he's taking the opportunity into serious consideration.

"I have read the screenplay," he says. "It's good... I think it is very faithful [to the book]."

He also acknowledged his fondness for his would-be co-star, saying, "I think Lily Collins is a great pick for the role."

We understand why Pettyfer might not be up for tackling the role of Jace. He's only 20, and a potential six-picture commitment is a lot to consider for someone whose career is starting to take off.

Fans of the books, are you campaigning for Pettyfer or would you like to see the filmmakers keep looking?
